"The main reason I paint is to record and understand something of the beauty I see around me.
When
I was small boy, I discovered drawing was a wonderful way of finding
out about things, so I have continued to do that all my life. It is my
way of trying to understand this complex and beautiful world we
inhabit. I also greatly enjoy solving the problems involved in the
painting process".
